RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Mustafa al-Barghouthi, secretary-general of the Palestinian National Initiative Movement, has affirmed that the Israeli occupation state’s sole plan and goal is to complete the mass displacement and transfer of the Palestinian people that started in 1948.
In press remarks to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) on Wednesday, Barghouthi described Israeli practices in the occupied West Bank as a “genocidal war” and “part of the Israeli plan to displace the Palestinian people.”
“The occupation is depopulating the West Bank refugee camps with the aim of dismantling them because they symbolize resistance and resilience,” Barghouthi said.
Barghouthi warned that the Israeli regime has a project backed by US president Donald Trump to annex and control the West Bank at the pretext that it is part of its territory.
Barghouthi also pointed out that Netanyahu wants to liquidate the entire Palestinian existence and repeat the 1948 Nakba on a larger scale, adding the occupation seeks a transition from apartheid to ethnic cleansing.
“The Zionist war has not actually stopped. The occupation is moving with its tanks and machinery from Gaza to the West Bank to carry out the same destruction and displacement project,” Barghouthi said.
“The occupation will only change its methods in Gaza; if it is not through direct killing and military annihilation, it will do so through besieging the Strip and bargaining over reconstruction,” the Palestinian leader underscored.
