GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center ) Dr. Basem Naim, a senior official in the Hamas Movement, confirmed that the Movement has not received any official response to the most recent Gaza ceasefire offer it agreed to.
In a statement issued on Sunday evening, Naim said, “We are seeing some media leaks about the enemy rejecting the partial deal and insisting on a comprehensive agreement, supported by a complicit US administration. The clearest expression of this is the statement by their ambassador to the entity, Mike Huckabee, the messianic envoy.”
“So far, the Movement has not received any official response to the latest proposal, nor has it received any new offers related to a comprehensive deal.”
Naim accused the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his “fascist government” of stalling and evading responsibility by once again beating the drums of war in Gaza City, a tactic he said Israel has employed many times over the past 22 months, failing each time to achieve any of its declared goals, aside from spreading death and destruction to satisfy its messianic ambitions and chauvinistic psychology.
He emphasized that Hamas has provided everything necessary to reach a ceasefire agreement and remains fully prepared to do so, with national responsibility and an open mind.
“Netanyahu wants the war to continue in order to protect himself and his coalition and to fulfill his messianic aspirations, not only in Gaza, but across the entire region.”
