GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Satellite images have showed massive amounts of destruction in several areas of Khan Yunis City in southern Gaza, which the Israeli occupation army claims to impose “operational control” on them.
According to an illustrative BBC report, the images showed extensive destruction in al-Maslakh area of Khan Yunis following a sudden attack launched by the Israeli army, which had forced hundreds of displaced families to flee anew under intense bombardment.
They also unveiled widespread devastation in the town of Khuza’a, which has been reduced to rubble.
These images underscored the magnitude of the destruction in those areas and the scale of the tragedy that had been endured by the families who lived there.
A significant portion of this destruction was carried out through organized demolition operations, targeting buildings that had been previously damaged, as well as others that appeared largely intact.
Verified footage also shows large explosions unleashing plumes of dust and debris, as Israeli forces carry out controlled demolitions on tower blocks, schools and other infrastructure.
Multiple legal experts told “BBC Verify,” which prepared this report, that “Israel may have committed war crimes under the Geneva Convention, which largely prohibits the destruction of infrastructure by an occupying power.”
“Israel has created extensive security zones and corridors separating parts of Gaza, and has destroyed large numbers of buildings along and near these routes. Its latest corridor separates western from eastern Khan Yunis, including Khuza’a and Abasan al-Kabira,” the BBC report said.
