Southeast Bethlehem: Child Succumbs to Injuries from Israeli Raid

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), A Palestinian child was killed on Monday evening after succumbing to critical wounds he sustained during clashes that erupted following an Israeli military incursion into the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.

Local sources reported that a Palestinian was seriously wounded during the violent confrontations that erupted in the town after Israeli forces stormed the area amid heavy live fire.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society announced that a child was killed after being shot with live ammunition during clashes with Israeli forces that followed the raid on Tuqu’. Local sources identified the victim as Ammar Yasser Sabah.

In the same context, the Palestinian Ministry of Health said in a press statement that the child Ammar Yasser Mohammed Ta’amra, 16, died after being shot in the chest by Israeli forces during their incursion into the town of Tuqu’, southeast of Bethlehem.

Separately, an elderly Palestinian man was injured on Monday evening after being assaulted by Israeli settlers south of al-Khalil in the southern occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said that its medical teams treated an elderly Palestinian who was beaten by settlers in the Masafer Yatta area, south of al-Khalil. The Red Crescent added that the injured man was transferred to hospital to continue receiving treatment.

Additionally, a group of settlers raided the area of Khallat al-Far’a, west of the town of Yatta in the southern al-Khalil governorate, earlier on Monday afternoon. The settlers reportedly filmed homes that had been demolished days earlier, as well as nearby houses.

The Israeli occupation forces have intensified their assaults across the West Bank since the start of the war on Gaza. These actions have so far resulted in the killing of approximately 1,093 Palestinians, the injury of more than 10,000 others, and the arrest of over 20,000 people, including 1,600 children.
