KHAN YUNIS (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Medical teams in Gaza have recovered the bodies of nine martyrs from the town of Khuza’a east of Khan Yunis, while operations to recover more bodies from various parts of the Gaza Strip continue since the ceasefire came into force last Sunday.
Local sources revealed that the nine bodies belonged to the families of Al-Najjar, Qudaih and Abu Rida, noting that they were recovered more than a year after their martyrdom in the town of Khuza’a.
The Civil Defense announced on Thursday that its crews recovered the bodies of nine martyrs on Wednesday two of them from the Gaza and North governorates, and seven from the South governorates, which brings the total number of martyrs recovered to 162 since the ceasefire.
The PIC correspondent reported that the majority of the martyrs were recovered in Rafah and northern Gaza, after the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces.
The civil defense crews continue to face difficulties in recovering thousands of potential martyrs due to the difficulty of removing large rubble and the lack of appropriate tools.
The Civil Defense said that the bodies of thousands of martyrs are still missing under the rubble of homes and buildings destroyed by the Israeli occupation forces, and our crews are unable to reach their locations and recover them due to the lack of equipment and heavy machinery.
