Casualties in Israeli airstrikes on civilian facilities in Yemen

SANA’A  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A wave of intense Israeli airstrikes rocked Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, and a western port city at dawn Thursday, killing at least nine civilians, according to reports by Yemeni media outlets.

The Israeli occupation army claimed it had attacked “military targets” belonging to “Houthi” fighters in the western coastal city of Hodeida and deep inside Yemen on Thursday morning, after intercepting a missile fired from Yemen towards Israel.

According to the Hebrew news website Walla, the Israeli government had planned and sanctioned the last attack on Yemen weeks ago.

Al Masirah satellite channel, the main news outlet run by Yemen’s Ansarullah group, said seven people were killed in an Israeli strike on the port of as-Salif and the rest in two strikes on the Ras Isa oil facility; both are located in the western province of Hodeida.

Other people were also injured in the Israeli aerial attack on Hodeida.

“The enemy launched four aggressive raids targeting the port … and two raids targeting an oil facility,” Al Masirah reported.

The series of “aggressive raids” also targeted two central power stations south and north of the capital, Sana’a, it added.

Yemen’s SABA news agency also reported that four raids targeted Hodeida, with two hitting the Ras Isa oil facility, killing and injuring some of its employees.

This was the second time this week the Israeli army claimed it intercepted a missile from Yemen.

Israel previously attacked Hodeida in July and September, killing at least four people.

Last night, Yemen’s armed forces and Ansarullah group announced the launch of one missile at Tel Aviv in response to Israel’s ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.

The missile attack from Yemen reportedly caused structural damage in Tel Aviv, according to footage circulated by Israeli news outlets.

However, the Israeli army said it intercepted the missile in the early hours of Thursday morning before it crossed into the country. At the time, Israeli media reported sirens across central Israel as well as “major booms” in Occupied Jerusalem.

In a related context, Yemen’s Ansarullah group affirmed that its military support for the Gaza Strip would not stop despite the Zio-American aggression against the country.

In televised remarks, senior Ansarullah official Nasruddin Amer stressed that “nothing can force the Yemeni people to leave Gaza alone while it being slaughtered from vein to vein.”

“Targeting a civilian facility here or there will certainly have no impact on Yemen’s military capabilities, which will deter the Zionist enemy, God willing,” Amer said.
