Civil Defense: 200 citizens buried under the rubble over the past few days

GAZA  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Civil Defense in Gaza Strip has said that more than 200 citizens are buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) over the past few days.

The Civil Defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said in a statement on Sunday, “We don’t know if those people are still alive or not?”

He said that the IOF bombing of residential homes had killed more than 100 people since dawn Sunday.

Basal told Al-Jazeera that hundreds of Gazan families have been wiped off the civil registry in the enclave due to the ongoing IOF bombardment, charging Israel with attempting to forcibly evacuate Northern Gaza governorate of its inhabitants.

He said that the IOF was forcing the closure of the remaining hospitals in northern Gaza namely the Indonesian and Awda hospitals, which would mean an end to medical services in all northern areas of the Strip.

The Civil Defense spokesman described the situation in northern Gaza as catastrophic, adding that those who do not die in IOF bombing are dying of hunger or due to psychological pressures, especially among women and children.
