Civil defense: 60 Palestinians killed since dawn

Gaza,(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defense, Mahmoud Basal, stated that more than 60 people have been killed due to Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip since dawn today, Sunday.

In press statements, Basal added that the aid entering Gaza is extremely limited, with only about 10 trucks arriving in the Strip today.

He explained that airdropping aid into Gaza is ineffective and that the situation remains tragic.

He warned, “People should not be misled by the propaganda surrounding the entry of aid into Gaza,” stressing that talk of a humanitarian truce is unrealistic and mere publicity.

Basal further called for the United Nations organizations to be given full access to bring in and distribute aid within Gaza.

Meanwhile, Hamas official Ali Baraka emphasized that while the Israeli occupation continues to commit brutal crimes against the people of Gaza, it falsely claims to be adhering to a so-called “humanitarian truce.”

In a statement on Sunday, Baraka said that the reality on the ground proves that this so-called truce is nothing more than a cover to deceive international public opinion and continue massacres against unarmed civilians.

“The Israeli soldiers today opened direct fire on groups of innocent citizens waiting for humanitarian aid in several areas across Gaza, leading to martyrdom and injuries, a horrific crime added to the occupation’s long black record of massacres and war crimes.”

Baraka affirmed, “We in Hamas confirm that what is happening is not a humanitarian truce, but rather a continuation of the genocide and starvation war being waged by the fascist occupation government against more than two million besieged people in Gaza.”

He reiterated Hamas’s call on the international community, the United Nations, and human rights and humanitarian organizations for immediate action to stop the ongoing massacres, break the unjust blockade on Gaza, urgently and permanently open land crossings, and allow the entry of food, medical, and relief aid without restrictions.

Baraka stressed that “the world’s silence on these horrific crimes is implicit participation in them,” adding, “History will not forgive those who colluded or stood idly by as our people suffered under fire, hunger, and siege.”

The Israeli war machine continues its genocidal campaign against civilians in Gaza for the 660th consecutive day since October 7, 2023, with escalating massacres targeting women and children and an ongoing, suffocating blockade on the Strip.

The israeli army continues to turn humanitarian aid distribution points into death traps, repeatedly targeting unarmed civilians gathered for food and water, in clear violation of all humanitarian laws.

According to the Government Media Office in Gaza, the Gaza Strip needs at least 600 relief trucks daily, including baby formula, essential humanitarian supplies, and fuel, to meet the bare minimum needs of the population under the tight Israeli blockade and the complete closure of crossings for 148 consecutive days.

In the past 24 hours alone, Gaza’s hospitals have received 88 martyrs (including 12 recovered bodies) and 374 injuries, according to the Ministry of Health’s daily report.
