Civil defense in Gaza refutes claims of armed personnel in ambulances

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza firmly denied on Wednesday the Israeli allegations that ambulances were used to “transport armed Palestinians,” stating that such claims are completely baseless.

In an official statement, the directorate asserted that ambulances have never been used by any armed individuals, rejecting the Israeli narrative outright.

It clarified that the individuals seen in the footage shared by the Israeli army are members of the civilian police, who were carrying personal weapons while performing their duties to help regulate ambulance movement and facilitate the transport of the injured, not militants as claimed.

The Civil Defense stressed that the occupation is deliberately fabricating footage and manipulating video clips to mislead public opinion and justify ongoing crimes against civilians, including targeting medical teams, paramedics, and ambulances during their humanitarian missions.

The agency reaffirmed its full commitment to international laws and conventions and called on human rights and media organizations to expose these false claims and ensure protection for humanitarian teams operating on the ground.

Israel has waged a war of genocide against Gaza’s population since October 7, 2023, with US and European support, engaging in widespread killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and mass arrests, while ignoring international calls and International Court of Justice orders to cease hostilities. A ceasefire was brokered on October 10, 2025 but Israel violates its provisions on daily basis.

The genocide has resulted in over 242,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of them women and children; over 11,000 missing; hundreds of thousands displaced; widespread famine claiming many lives, especially children; and devastating destruction that has wiped out large swathes of Gaza’s cities and towns.
