GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The General Directorate of Civil Defense has warned of a complete halt to the services and humanitarian interventions it provides to displaced citizens in the area that the Israeli occupation claims is “humanitarian” in southern Gaza.
Dr. Mohamed Al-Mugheer, Director of Supply and Equipment at the Civil Defense, said that “international organizations have refused to supply us with fuel since the beginning of the brutal Israeli aggression in Gaza, claiming that the Israeli occupation blocked the entry of fuel shipments.”
He emphasized that the Civil Defense is suffering from severe crisis due to the refusal of international organizations to provide fuel in the designated “humanitarian area” in southwestern Gaza, criticizing these organizations’ claims in this regard.
Al-Mugheer confirmed that Civil Defense teams are still providing humanitarian services throughout Gaza with minimal available resources and capabilities. He reiterated that they continue to call for the necessary fuel supply to operate their vehicles and fulfill their humanitarian duties, noting that 13 firefighting and rescue vehicles have ceased operation this week in the southern region, out of a total of 22 for the same reason.
He warned the UN organizations and the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs that the continued prevention of fuel supply to the Civil Defense threatens the lives of thousands of displaced persons affected by the Israeli aggression on Gaza.
The Israeli occupation army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023 with unlimited American support, resulting in approximately 150,000 Palestinian casualties, most of whom are children and women, along with over 11,000 missing persons, amidst massive destruction and famine that has claimed the lives of dozens of children and elderly, in one of the worst humanitarian disasters in the world.
