Civilian casualties reported after Israeli strike in Lebanon

BEIRUT, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), An Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon early Saturday killed one civilian and wounded two others, coinciding with aerial attacks on Beirut’s southern suburb following evacuation warnings for several neighborhoods.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, an Israeli warplane carried out a strike on a house in the town of al‑Ghandouriyah in the Bint Jbeil district, killing one person and wounding two others.

Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army launched aerial attacks on Beirut’s southern suburb following prior evacuation warnings for seven neighborhoods.

The Israeli army claimed in a statement that it was attacking military infrastructure belonging to Hezbollah in Beirut.

Heavy Israeli artillery shelling also targeted the town of Naqoura in the Tyre district of southern Lebanon.

In a related context, Hezbollah announced on Friday that it had carried out 55 counterattacks on Israeli military sites, using rockets, drones, and artillery projectiles.

Hezbollah added that its operations had been carried out “in defense of Lebanon and its people,” pointing out that its fighters also launched strikes on nine illegal Israeli settlements.
