Clashes erupt in Beit Ummar as IOF raids Nablus, other West Bank cities

WEST BANK  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Several Palestinians sustained injuries overnight as Israeli occupation forces (IOF) violently confronted residents in multiple areas across the occupied West Bank.

The town of Beit Ummar, north of al-Khalil, witnessed intense clashes in which at least four civilians, including an elderly woman, were injured by live fire.

According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, its medics treated a 19-year-old man shot in the leg, who was later transferred to the hospital, as well as an 18-year-old young woman suffering from tear gas inhalation.

A 25-year-old man and a 59-year-old woman also sustained gunshot wounds to their legs and were taken to the hospital for treatment. The injuries occurred during confrontations between the IOF and local residents in Beit Ummar.

Local sources confirmed that the IOF troops arrested a young man in the area after physically assaulting him and took him to an unknown location.

Elsewhere, Israeli forces raided the city of Al-Bireh, near Ramallah, deploying along Jerusalem Street and the vicinity of Al-Am’ari refugee camp. Troops reportedly stormed a commercial shop and assaulted its owners, while live fire was heard before the IOF withdrew from the city.

Further clashes were reported in Al-Arroub refugee camp, north of al-Khalil, where Israeli soldiers fired live ammunition and tear gas, although no injuries were reported at the time.

In the northern West Bank, a Palestinian youth was shot in the leg by Israeli gunfire during a raid in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, triggering further confrontations.

Israeli forces also raided the villages of Burin and Burqa, east and west of Nablus, respectively, although no casualties were reported.

In Khirbet Tana, a small village near Beit Furik, east of Nablus, Israeli settlers—accompanied by occupation forces—stormed the Sheikh Mosque during prayer, attacking worshipers and firing stun grenades and tear gas. Witnesses reported that the settlers confiscated identification cards before releasing those detained.

These incidents are part of an intensifying campaign of military raids and settler violence across the occupied West Bank, as Israel continues a broader offensive in northern West Bank cities. The ongoing operations have led to widespread destruction of infrastructure and the displacement of thousands of Palestinians, particularly in Jenin, Tulkarem, and Nur Shams refugee camps, prompting urgent calls for international protection and accountability.
