PFLP: Israel’s mutilation of martyrs’ bodies is a war crime demanding officials’ arrest

GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) condemned the brutal torture and mutilation of Palestinian martyrs’ bodies by Israeli occupation forces, describing such acts as “complete war crimes and crimes against humanity” that demand the immediate arrest and prosecution of Israeli officials involved in those crimes.

In a statement issued on Friday, the PFLP said that the deliberate disfigurement of bodies and the erasure of identities reflect “a Nazi-like, fascist mindset aimed at concealing evidence and evading accountability.”

The group stressed that these acts demonstrate Israel’s moral collapse and its attempt to dehumanize Palestinians even after death.

While Palestinian resistance movements continue to show “the highest levels of ethics and humanity” in handling captives and remains, the PFLP said, the “fascist occupation persists in its savage violations, from torture to mutilation and erasure of identities.”

The statement called for immediate, independent, and international documentation of all cases of mutilation and abuse of bodies, and for the publication of credible findings to expose the crimes to the world. It urged the full return of all bodies and data on the missing to their families “with respect for their dignity and rights.”

The PFLP also highlighted the ongoing suffering of Palestinian prisoners, particularly those from Gaza, who face “systematic torture, deliberate medical neglect, and severe abuse” in Israeli prisons, calling it a “continuing war crime” that requires urgent international intervention to ensure the prisoners’ protection and rights.

The group demanded the establishment of effective international judicial mechanisms that go beyond traditional investigation committees, to issue immediate arrest warrants for Israeli officials implicated in these crimes.

“The evidence is overwhelming, witnessed by the entire world,” the PFLP said, warning that “these crimes will not go unpunished and will not expire with time.” The group pledged to pursue all those responsible “until justice is served.”
