WEST BANK, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) carried out a massive arrest campaign across the West Bank towns and cities at dawn Friday.
The IOF arrested 26 Palestinians in al-Khalil, including the Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC), Aziz Dweik, and MP Sheikh Hatem Qafisha, in addition to several ex-prisoners.
In Nablus, three Palestinians were shot and injured, while dozens of others suffered from tear gas inhalation after IOF troops violently suppressed pro-Gaza rallies.
The IOF further rounded up six Palestinians in Qabatiya town in Jenin and another young man in Fawar refugee camp, south of al-Khalil.
The IOF arrest campaign came in a failed attempt to abort any anticipated rallies in support of the Gaza Strip.
