The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) launched a large-scale arrest campaign last night and early Saturday in the West Bank, mainly in al-Khalil, kidnaping more than 65 Palestinians, including MP Jamal al-Tirawi from Nablus.
According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped and detained more than 55 Palestinians from Beit Ummar town, north of al-Khalil.
The sources said that the IOF assaulted those detainees and interrogated them in the town before releasing a number of them.
Six other citizens were kidnaped from their homes in different neighborhoods of al-Khalil City, including Rami al-Junaidi, head of the al-Khalil municipality union.
Local sources reported that the Israeli army imposed a strict curfew on the Jaber, Salaymeh, and Wadi al-Husain neighborhoods of al-Khalil City.
In Nablus, the IOF kidnaped MP Jamal al-Tirawi and his son as well as three other citizens following raids on homes in the city.
The IOF also kidnaped four citizens from Qabatiya town in southern Jenin and another one from Tulkarem City.
