OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Information Centre)Hordes of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Tuesday morning.
According to the al-Qastal News website, dozens of settlers entered the Mosque in groups through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards under tight police guard.
A number of settlers escorted by police officers also gathered in the eastern area of the Mosque and embarked on performing Talmudic prayers.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police continued to impose restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the Mosque, and harassed a number of them during their presence in its courtyards and the entrances leading to it.
In a related context, Hamas spokesman Mohamed Hamada has urged the Palestinian masses to frequent the Aqsa Mosque to protect it against Judaization.
In press remarks, spokesman Hamada warned of settlers’ intents to defile the Mosque en masse during the coming month as part of their efforts to Judaize the Palestinian holy sites.
The spokesman also pointed to the five-year Judaization plan in east Jerusalem that was announced recently by the Israeli occupation government, describing it as “dangerous” and “aimed at displacing the Jerusalemites and replacing them with Jewish settlers.”
The spokesman called for developing a comprehensive national plan to protect the Aqsa Mosque against Israeli violations, affirming that the Palestinian resistance is on the lookout for any suspicious activity by the Israeli occupation authority and Jewish settlers in Jerusalem and at the Aqsa Mosque.
