Scores of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the Aqsa Mosque in Occupied Jerusalem on Thursday morning and later in the afternoon, amid tight restrictions on the entry of Muslim worshipers to the holy site.
According to al-Qastal News website, over 250 settlers stormed the Aqsa Mosque and toured its courtyards.
During their tours at the holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount and a number of them provocatively performed Talmudic prayers and dances.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation police imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates and prevented many of them from entering the holy site.
On Wednesday, extremist temple groups had called for participating in mass break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque on Thursday to mark what they call the “Sigd” occasion.
The Jerusalem Governorate already warned of attempts by settler groups to intensify their presence inside the Mosque during Jewish occasions as part of their efforts to impose new faits accomplis and Judaize the holy site.
