OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has warned of the fascist Israeli government’s escalation of its aggression against Jerusalem and the Aqsa Mosque, and called in a statement on Friday on the International Quds Day for unifying efforts of the nation in confronting the “Zionist enemy’s schemes.”
Hamas said that the International Quds Day this year comes amid Israeli escalation of its aggression and plots against Islamic and Christian holy sites in the occupied city of Jerusalem, at the heart of which is the blessed Aqsa Mosque.
It pointed out that the fascist occupation government continues its Judaization and settlement plans in Jerusalem, closing the gates of the Aqsa in the face of worshipers, and preventing those who maintain presence and guard the Mosque from reaching it and performing seclusion for worship in it during the last 10 days of the blessed month of Ramadan, in a blatant violation of all international norms and conventions and divine laws, and amid suspicious international silence and inaction.
Hamas confirmed that on International Quds Day the nature of the conflict becomes clear, as war and escalation in the region coincide with a dangerous escalation in Palestine that has reached the point of closing the blessed Aqsa Mosque to worshippers during the month of Ramadan for the first time since its occupation in 1967.
It stressed that what is happening is not separate events, but rather links in one project that aims to break the will of the peoples of the region and destroy the elements of steadfastness and resistance in the nation, in preparation for imposing realities that serve the illusions of the “expansionist Zionist project and its alleged myths.”
The Movement said that the masses of the Palestinian people and the Islamic nation commemorate International Quds Day, which comes every year on the last Friday of the blessed month of Ramadan, recalling the status of Palestine and its crown jewel, the city of Jerusalem and the blessed Aqsa Mosque, and remembering their duty toward their holy city and the place of the night journey of prophet Mohammed, peace be upon him, and the necessity of assuming their responsibilities in defending them by all means and confronting the plans of the “Zionist enemy.”
It confirmed that “the International Quds Day, which comes this year amid the Zio-American war targeting our region and our peoples, is an opportunity to unify the efforts of the nation and strengthen joint action supporting the steadfastness of Jerusalemites, those who maintain presence and guard the Mosque, and the defenders of Jerusalem and the Aqsa. Defending them, supporting them, and protecting them from the danger of the occupation, its aggression and its crimes is a shared responsibility around which the Arab and Islamic nation unite, leaders and rulers, governments and peoples, institutions and organizations.”
