Israeli Bulldozer Kills Wounded Child, Euro-Med Reports

GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Euro-Med Human Rights Monitor has condemned the deliberate killing of a wounded Palestinian child by an Israeli military bulldozer, which ran over the child, who was still alive, severing his body in half after he had been shot and denied medical aid.

The Euro-Med described the act as a particularly brutal form of deliberate killing and part of a systematic pattern of targeting Palestinian civilians in Gaza, amounting to acts of genocide.

In a statement, the Euro-Med said its field team documented the case of Zaher Nasser Shamiya, 16, from Jabalia refugee camp, who was shot by Israeli forces on Wednesday, December 10, 2025. He was left to bleed on the ground while gunfire in the area prevented any help from reaching him. Minutes later, an Israeli bulldozer intentionally crushed him, even though he was still alive and lying on the ground, slicing his body into two and leaving him in pieces.

The child’s uncle told the Euro-Med that Shamiya had been near the Jabalia Services Club, approximately 50 meters from the Yellow Line, when Israeli forces arrived at the area and opened heavy fire. Shamiya was struck, reportedly by fire from a quadcopter drone, near his head. Witnesses saw him still moving before his friends fled, leaving him lying injured.

Israeli forces then fired smoke grenades, approached the area, and soldiers dismounted. A bulldozer moved forward and began constructing an earthen barrier. During this, it deliberately crushed Shamiya’s body, turning it into fragments. His friends later retrieved what remained and took him to Al-Shifa Hospital.

The Euro-Med stressed that Israeli forces’ repeated use of tanks and bulldozers to crush wounded or alive Palestinians is not a series of isolated incidents but represents one of the most extreme and dehumanizing methods of deliberate killing seen over the past two years. These practices aim to physically and psychologically terrorize Palestinians as part of a broader genocidal campaign.

On February 29, 2024, 62-year-old Jamal Hamdi Hassan Ashour was deliberately run over by an armored vehicle after being detained and bound in Gaza’s Al-Zaytoun neighborhood.

On June 27, 2024, Israeli forces raided a home in Gaza City’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood, forcibly removed a family of five, including three daughters and a baby, and used them as human shields for hours before a tank crushed their elderly mother, Safiya Hassan Mousa Al-Jammal, 65, in front of her son.

On January 23, 2024, an Israeli tank crushed a temporary shelter caravan in Khan Yunis, killing a father and his daughter, and wounding three children and their mother.

On December 16, 2023, tanks and bulldozers ran over tents housing displaced persons at Kamal Adwan Hospital, killing several, including injured patients, and destroying graves and buried bodies.

The Euro-Med emphasized these acts are part of a deliberate policy of stripping Palestinians of their humanity, exposing them to extreme violence, and contributing to an ongoing genocide. These attacks continue despite the ceasefire declared on October 10, 2025, with 389 civilians killed and around 1,000 wounded by Israeli strikes and gunfire since then.

The denial of humanitarian aid, obstruction of reconstruction, and exposure of displaced civilians to life-threatening conditions—including cold weather, famine, disease, and collapsed health infrastructure, are elements of a systematic policy to annihilate Gaza’s population.

The Euro-Med Monitor called on the International Criminal Court (ICC) to prioritize investigations into mass killings, including the deliberate crushing of children and wounded civilians, as part of the genocide in Gaza, countries applying universal jurisdiction to open criminal investigations into documented cases of killings, including crushing by armored vehicles, and prosecute all those responsible, regardless of nationality or official status. It finally urged signatories to the Genocide Convention to immediately act to halt the genocide in Gaza by stopping arms and military support to Israel and reevaluating political and security cooperation with it.
