GAZA(Palestine Foundation Information Center)The father of Al-Jazeera journalist Anas al-Sharif has been killed on Monday evening in an Israeli strike that targeted his family house where his father lived in Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza.
Speaking to Al-Jazeera on the death of his father, Al-Sharif said that he was unable to reach the house immediately after the strike, due to continuous Israeli bombing.
Al-Sharif’s father thus was buried in the yard of a UN school where many displaced Palestinians are taking shelter.
The Palestinian journalist told Al-Jazeera that he had received threats from Israeli officers to stop his coverage of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip.
However, Al-Sharif pledged to continue covering the Israeli occupation’s crimes against the Palestinians in Gaza.
The Palestinian Journalists Syndicate documented the martyrdom of 75 journalists and media workers, the injury of about 80 journalists, and the missing of two others since the start of the Israeli hideous aggression on Gaza more than two months ago.
The Syndicate said in a report, that the Israeli ongoing bombardment affected family houses of 60 journalists, destroyed the headquarters of 63 press institutions and offices, and disrupted the work of 25 local radio stations, 24 of which in Gaza and one in the West Bank.
