Karbala: (Palestine Foundation Information Center ) The General Secretariat of the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, in cooperation with the Global Campaign to Return to Palestine, hosted the 4th International “Call of Al-Aqsa” Conference under the theme “From Karbala to Palestine: The Journey of Sacrifice for Freedom, Dignity, and Victory.”
The three-day conference brought together participants from over 70 countries, including religious scholars, academics, intellectuals, politicians, parliamentarians, artists, and other influential figures.
At the closing session, a unanimous declaration was issued, reaffirming full support for the liberation of Palestine (From the River to the Sea) and the legitimate resistance of its people. The statement emphasized that the path of Imam Hussein (AS) offers a timeless model of courage in confronting injustice and tyranny.
The declaration praised the resilience of the people of Gaza and urged the international community to break its silence and take practical action. It held global powers and governments allied with the Zionist regime directly responsible for the crimes committed in Gaza.
Participants called for a total boycott of Israel, describing it as a humanitarian, moral, and religious obligation, while warning that normalization of ties with the occupying entity equates to partnership in its crimes. The declaration also urged scholars worldwide to strengthen the jurisprudence of resistance and regard the liberation of Palestine and its holy sites as a clear religious duty.
The conference commended Iraq’s religious leadership, particularly Grand Ayatollah Syed Ali al-Sistani, for his firm stance in support of the Palestinian people. Gratitude was also extended to the Iraqi people and institutions for their continued financial and moral backing.
In its final recommendations, the conference approved legal, social, and media initiatives, including international lawsuits against Zionist leaders, breaking the siege on Gaza, addressing hunger and famine, and resisting normalization efforts.
