Five injuries reported in settlers’ attacks on Palestinian lands in the West Bank

AL-KHALIL  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Five Palestinian citizens were wounded on Wednesday and others fainted in Israeli settlers’ attacks in Masafer Yatta area, south of Al-Khalil, in the southern West Bank.

The activist Osama Makhamra explained that dozens of settlers assaulted Palestinian citizens in Khirbet Aqwawis in Masafer Yatta and sprayed them with tear gas leading to fractures and bruises among Palestinians who were transferred by ambulance crews to the hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, a number of other residents fainted after they were sprayed with pepper gas by the settlers, and they were treated in the field.

Makhamra added that settlers have been significantly escalating their attacks on Palestinians and their proprieties in Masafer Yatta.

Such attacks involve, attacking and assaulting residents’ homes and sheep pens, chasing the shepherds and farmers, and preventing them by force from reaching their fields and pastures, in an attempt to force them to leave their lands and forcibly displace them from the area, in favor of settlement expansion.

Meanwhile, other groups of fanatic settlers stormed on Wednesday the town of Sebastia, northwest of Nablus, while others stormed the Shallal Al-Auja Mixed School, north of Jericho.

The mayor of Sebastia stated that more than 50 settlers stormed the archaeological area in the town, under protection from Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

He pointed out that the IOF closed all entrances to the archaeological area, besieged it and blocked traffic in the area.

The town of Sebastia has been constantly exposed to settlers’ attacks and IOF raids.

The Al-Baydar Organization for the Defense of the Rights of the Bedouins said that a group of settlers stormed the Shallal Al-Auja Mixed School in the Ras Al-Ain Bedouin gathering, north of Jericho, destroyed property belonging to the school, and unleashed their sheep into the crops of citizens.

Bedouin communities in the Jordan Valley are suffering due to escalating attacks by settlers, targeting their people and lands.
