BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli army continued on Wednesday its bloody war on Lebanon for 31 successive days, with air and artillery shelling that targeted the capital, Beirut, the eastern Bekaa, southern Lebanon, and other areas in the country.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday evening that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon surged to 2,546 martyrs and 11,862 injured.
The ministry explained that 18 people including four children were martyred and 60 others wounded in an Israeli airstrike that targeted the southern suburb.
It also announced the martyrdom of 19 people and the injury of 35 others in evening airstrikes on the governorates of Nabatiyeh, the south, and the Hermel in southern and eastern Lebanon.
The head of the Lebanese doctors’ syndicate said Israel is directly targeting the health sector, noting that five hospitals went out of service, while 22 hospitals were partially damaged.
At least five citizens were martyred and 21 were wounded as a result of an Israeli strike on Ksar Al-Zatar in Nabatiyeh, while five citizens were martyred and 10 citizens were injured as a result of an Israeli raid on the Ma’ali area in Baalbek Hermel.
The Israeli army committed on Tuesday evening a massacre in southern Lebanon, after its warplanes targeted an inhabited house in Tufahna town, near the city of Sidon.
Lebanese media reported that the Israeli army bombed a funeral that was held in the house of the martyr Khadr Ezz El-Din in the town of Tufahna, in southern Lebanon, which led to the martyrdom of at least eight people and the injury of many others.
The Civil Defense in eastern Lebanon said its crews dealt with five martyrs and seven injuries following the Israeli strike on the city of Hermel in the Bekaa.
For its part, the Lebanese Red Cross explained that three of its paramedics were injured in a rescue mission in Nabatieh in southern Lebanon.
