BEIRUT (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Israeli army issued at dawn Friday new forced evacuation orders for areas in Lebanon as its warplanes continued its intensive strikes following a day that witnessed the fall of dozens of Lebanese martyrs and wounded.
The Israeli army said it issued an order to evacuate the villages of Taybeh, Adshit al-Qasir and Deir Siryan in southern Lebanon, and the areas of Ma’shouq and Burj al-Shamali in the Tyre district, and the Hadath and Haret Hreik areas in the southern suburb of Beirut in preparation for bombing them.
While the Israeli Home Front Command reported that sirens were sounded in Haifa Bay and the Krayot, the Israeli army confirmed that it had detected five missiles launched from Lebanon towards Haifa Bay, some of which were intercepted.
In the same context, the Israeli ambulance service said that three wounded people were transferred to Rambam Hospital after being injured in a stampede while heading to the shelters in Haifa and the Krayot.
In the latest developments in the field battles in the southern border areas, the Lebanese Hezbollah announced that it had destroyed an Israeli Merkava tank in the vicinity of Qalaat Shama, killing and wounding its crew.
Earlier on Friday morning, the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced that 40 people were killed and 52 wounded in a series of raids on 10 different villages in the Baalbek district in eastern Lebanon, adding that 12 people were martyred and 50 others were wounded in a series of other raids that included several areas of southern Lebanon.
