GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Released prisoner Mohammad Ahmad Al-Basyouni, from the town of Beit Hanoun in northern Gaza Strip, was martyred after his health condition deteriorated as a result of his injuries.
The Asra Media Office said in a press release on Friday that Al-Basyouni had been detained in Israeli prisons twice, and that his most recent release was as part of the latest prisoner exchange deal.
According to the statement, Al-Basyouni’s tent collapsed on top of him a few days ago after falling from the top of the Deir Al-Balah Municipality building in central Gaza, due to strong winds, causing him to sustain serious injuries. The office noted that he was transferred to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital, where he remained in intensive care until his martyrdom was announced.
This comes amid the worsening humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, with renewed waves of extreme cold, the continuation of the aggression and blockade, the widespread destruction of homes and infrastructure, and the displacement of more than 1.5 million Palestinians into displacement camps that lack even the most basic necessities of life. As severe weather systems intensify, the number of victims continues to rise, particularly among children and the elderly, amid a complete inability to provide protection or heating.
