GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The International Committee of the Red Cross warned on Wednesday of the serious dangers posed by the collapse of damaged buildings in the Gaza Strip due to severe weather conditions, stressing that these structures pose a direct threat to residents’ lives and are contributing to a rising number of casualties.
The organization explained that thousands of civilians are being forced to remain inside unsafe homes and buildings because there are no viable alternatives and there is a lack of adequate shelters, further worsening the humanitarian risks across the territory.
The International Committee of the Red Cross emphasized the urgent need to increase the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza and to ensure its sustainability in order to meet immediate and medium-term needs. This includes the provision of food, shelter, and essential supplies, as well as the equipment necessary to repair critical infrastructure that has suffered extensive damage.
It also stressed the importance of allowing humanitarian assistance to enter without obstruction and ensuring that it is delivered quickly and safely to all areas of the Gaza Strip, in order to ease the suffering of the population amid deteriorating humanitarian conditions.
Israel has waged a war of genocide against Gaza’s population since October 7, 2023, with US and European support, engaging in widespread killing, starvation, destruction, displacement, and mass arrests, while ignoring international calls and International Court of Justice orders to cease hostilities. A ceasefire was brokered on October 10, 2025 but Israel violates its provisions on a daily basis.
The war has resulted in more than 241,000 Palestinians killed or injured, the majority of them women and children, in addition to more than 11,000 missing persons and hundreds of thousands displaced. It has also triggered a famine that has claimed the lives of many civilians and caused widespread destruction across most cities and areas of the Gaza Strip.
