GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The spokesperson for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, Mahmoud Basal, said that the humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached a critical and unprecedented level, with the complete absence of even the most basic necessities of life. He urged the international community to take immediate responsibility and act to halt the escalating humanitarian catastrophe.
In a press statement on Monday, Basal said that the Israeli occupation is using the issue of Israeli captives’ remains as a pretext to block the entry of essential humanitarian supplies into Gaza.
He confirmed that thousands of Palestinian bodies remain trapped under the rubble, including children, women, and people with special needs, and have not been recovered since the beginning of the war due to the lack of heavy equipment.
Basal added that thousands of civilians, especially children, women, and the sick, are suffering immensely from the war and its aftermath, enduring conditions beyond human tolerance. He warned that the continuation of this situation would lead to even greater loss of life and unbearable suffering.
He called on international bodies, human rights organizations, and mediators to urgently act to fully reopen the Rafah border crossing, allow the entry of heavy machinery to remove debris and recover bodies, ensure the delivery of humanitarian and medical aid, and begin reconstruction efforts without delay.
