DOHA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau Khaled Mishaal said on Tuesday that providing the Gaza Strip with its humanitarian needs is an essential step towards accelerating the transition to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement.
In remarks to Al Jazeera satellite channel, Mishaal said that the real threat comes from the Israeli occupation, not Gaza, stressing that disarming the Palestinians would be like taking their souls.
Mishaal affirmed that governance in Gaza must be fully Palestinian, emphasizing that Palestinians alone should determine their leadership and maintain control over the administration of the Strip.
Mishaal highlighted that the Hamas leadership is striving to ensure relief reaches the Strip by any possible means.
The Hamas leader said that “Gaza has endured enough and now it is time for the Strip to heal, focus on rebuilding, and restore normal life,” stressing that “Gaza needs those who will help it rise and heal.”
