Karachi (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Patron Committee of Palestine Foundation Pakistan held an urgent press conference at Karachi Press Club on Saturday, strongly rejecting Pakistan’s participation in the US-led “Gaza Board of Peace.” The committee stated that peace cannot be established in Gaza as long as a criminal like Benjamin Netanyahu is part of the board. They described the board, chaired by US President Donald Trump and including Netanyahu, as an international fraud, adding that the United States cannot be considered a trustworthy mediator.
The speakers condemned the board’s agenda, including disarming Palestinian resistance and turning Gaza into a recreational zone, as unacceptable.
The press conference was attended by senior leaders, including Jamat-e- Islami Deputy Amir Muslim Parvez, former MQM Sindh Assembly member Major (R) Qamar Abbas, Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan’s Allama Qazi Ahmed Noorani and Allama Aqeel Anjum, Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen’s Allama Baqir Zaidi, PPP leader Arshad Naqvi, PTI leader Israr Abbasi, Shia Ulema Council’s Allama Nazir Taqvi, Kashmiri leader Bashir Sadozai, Christian leader Pastor Emmanuel Suba, Palestine Academic Forum’s Dr. Zeeshan Iqbal, and Palestine Foundation Pakistan’s Secretary General Dr. Sabir Abu Maryam.
The speakers stated that President Trump aims to challenge the global system under the guise of the Gaza Board of Peace and impose his own rules internationally. They emphasized that any board formed without guaranteeing the rights of the Palestinian people is unacceptable.
They criticized the board’s plan to disarm Palestinian resistance movements, particularly Hamas, calling it a conspiracy against the Palestinian people. The speakers said that the 250 million people of Pakistan reject this so-called board of peace. They reaffirmed Pakistan’s alignment with the policies of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Iqbal, which recognize Israel as an illegitimate state and refuse to seek peace from any murderer or usurper.
The leaders expressed full support for the Palestinian people and resistance movements. They warned that Pakistan’s participation in the US-led board could weaken its historical stance on the Palestinian issue and negatively affect the resolution of Kashmir.
They added that several countries, including Russia and many European nations, have rejected the Gaza Board of Peace and refused to join. They stressed that a board dominated by foreign powers without Palestinian representation would create further problems instead of establishing peace.
The leaders concluded that Palestine belongs to the Palestinian people, and the right to decide the fate and future of Palestine rests solely with them. They reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and the right of return, in accordance with the principles of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
