JERICHO (Palestine Foundation Information Center)A Palestinian young man was proclaimed dead at dawn Tuesday after he succumbed to serious bullet injuries he sustained when the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened fire at him in the West Bank City of Jericho.
A general strike has been observed in Jericho in mourning for martyr Mohamed Jalayta.
Jalayta, 20, was injured by IOF gunfire in al-Arab neighborhood in the city and was rushed to a local hospital, where doctors announced his death following attempts to save his life.
Israeli forces stormed Jericho City after midnight and embarked on firing live ammunition and stun grenades at local residents in al-Arab neighborhood during a raid on a house in the area.
In a separate incident, a horde of extremist Jewish settlers cut a power line in the Shallal al-Auja community, north of Jericho, last night.
Recently, settlers established an illegal outpost inside the Shallal al-Auja community and started to harass and assault the local residents.
