GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), As heavy rains have compounded the already dire living conditions caused by two years of Israeli genocide, UNRWA has said that unrestricted humanitarian aid, including medical care and proper shelter, is vital for Gaza’s families to survive the winter.
“In Gaza, winter rains are falling, once again, bringing new hardships. Flooded streets and soaked tents are making already dire living conditions even more dangerous,” UNRWA said in social media remarks on Thursday.
“Cold, overcrowded, and unsanitary environments heighten the risk of illness and infection,” UNRWA added.
“This suffering could be prevented by unhindered humanitarian aid, including medical support and proper shelter. That would help families face winter in safety and dignity,” the agency said.
Earlier today, hundreds of tents sheltering displaced Palestinians across the enclave were flooded for the second consecutive day following heavy overnight rainfall brought by a new winter storm.
