GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Gaza’s civil defense service has warned that the war-ravaged enclave is facing an “unprecedented catastrophe” affecting all aspects of life, calling for urgent international action to address the dire humanitarian situation.
“Gaza is facing catastrophic conditions, with insufficient shelters, streets and residential areas vulnerable to bombardment at any moment, and a collapsing health system as hospitals fail to meet the mounting needs,” civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Basal said on Thursday.
Basal stressed the need for immediate international action and effective humanitarian efforts from global organizations to save the wounded, the sick, children, and the displaced in the Gaza Strip.
The suffering of Gaza’s population is deepening amid recurring cold waves, as the Israeli occupation regime maintains strict restrictions on the entry of essential supplies, relief aid, and medical assistance.
Meanwhile, the Rafah crossing remains closed, depriving patients and the wounded of seeking treatment abroad.
