GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Gaza City’s municipality’s ability to provide basic services has been severely crippled after the Israeli occupation army destroyed 134 of its vehicles — around 85 percent of the city’s fleet — amid severe shortages of fuel, lubricants and spare parts.
“This systematic destruction has hit the core infrastructure of municipal services, which are crucial for providing water and sewage services, collecting waste, maintaining roads, and operating vital facilities such as water wells and treatment plants,” the Gaza municipality said in a statement on Sunday.
“The acute shortages of vehicles and fuel have worsened the humanitarian and health conditions in the city and obstructed efforts to deliver essential services and basic life needs,” the municipality added.
The municipality appealed to international humanitarian organizations for urgent action to provide Gaza with its emergency needs in order to alleviate the suffering of the population.
