GMO condemns global inaction on Gaza humanitarian disaster

GAZA, (The Palestine Foundation Pakistan)

Gaza’s Government Media Office (GMO) has raised serious concerns about the worsening humanitarian situation in the Strip as winter sets in.

In a statement on Friday, GMO warned that “nearly 1.5 million displaced people are facing increasingly dire conditions, lacking even the most basic needs for survival.”

“The humanitarian crisis in Gaza persists despite the ceasefire agreement, as the Israeli occupation has failed to uphold its commitments to allow the entry of aid and essential supplies, further deepening the suffering of displaced families in camps and shelter centers,” GMO said.

“The Gaza Strip urgently requires 250,000 tents and 100,000 mobile homes to provide temporary shelter for displaced families, pending the launch of reconstruction efforts,” GMO added.

GMO condemned the international silence and inaction towards the deepening humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza, describing it as “unacceptable.”

It urged the UN, mediators, and concerned parties to intervene immediately to deliver emergency humanitarian aid to Gaza and alleviate the suffering of the population.
