GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said it is surprised by the Israeli occupation’s uproar following the claim that the body of the Israeli captive Shiri Bibas does not match the DNA test, stressing its rejection of Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s threats, calling it “part of his attempts to polish his image before the Zionist society and within the context of internal Israeli disputes.”
In a statement on Friday, Hamas stressed the necessity of moving forward in implementing the ceasefire agreement’s terms at all levels, saying it will carry out its own investigations and reveal the results clearly.
Hamas added that there was a possibility of “an error or mix-up in the bodies, which may have resulted from the occupation army’s targeting and bombing of the location where the family was present along with other Palestinians.”
It emphasized that it would inform the mediators about the results of the examination, adding that if it found Israel’s forensic results to be true, it would call for the return of the body that was brought to Israel, which the occupation claims belong to a Palestinian woman.
The Israeli occupation army confirmed early Friday that the bodies of hostage released on Thursday belonged to Ariel and Kfir Bibas. However, the third body “was not that of Shiri Bibas, and no match was found for any other hostage.
On the other hand, the spokesman for the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, Abu Obeida, announced the names of the six Israeli prisoners, to be released tomorrow, Saturday.
Abu Obeida mentioned their names as follows: 1- Eliya Cohen, 2- Omer Shem Tov, 3- Omer Wenkert, 4- Tal Shoham, 5- Avera Mengisto, 6- Hisham al-Sayed.
