GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement said that the statements made by the Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich to deal with Jenin and Nablus, as his criminal army deals with Jabalia, are an explicit call to expand the fascist war of genocide in the Gaza Strip and the ethnic cleansing and forced displacement operations taking place in the northern Gaza Strip to include the West Bank.
This came as part of the plans of the extreme right wing government to tighten control over the West Bank and displace its people, the Movement said in a press statement.
“These repeated fascist calls against the West Bank, accompanied by continuous aggression targeting our land and our holy sites, and the ongoing Israeli forces and settlers’ crimes against West Bank villages and towns, require urgent intervention by the United Nations and its institutions.”
Hamas stressed that these crimes also require action from the International Criminal Court to hold Israeli war criminals accountable for their continued incitement and criminal plans and practices that violate all humanitarian laws.
The Movement called on all segments of the Palestinian people “to unite behind the resistance option, to confront the dangers threatening our national cause, and to escalate confrontation against the Israeli forces.”
Far-right Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called Monday for massive destruction in the West Bank cities of Nablus and Jenin as the case in Jabalia in northern Gaza.
“Funduq, Nablus, and Jenin must look like Jabalia,” Smotrich said.
His call came after three illegal Jewish settlers were killed in a shooting attack in the village of Funduq in the central West Bank.
The extremist minister called for an urgent cabinet meeting to discuss what he called “a change in Israel’s approach” in the occupied West Bank.
