RAMALLAH (Palestine Foundation Information Center)Senior Hamas official Mahmoud Mardawi has said that the Israeli occupation’s escalation of its military operations and its destruction of public and private property on a large scale in the West Bank, especially in its northern areas, “signals the seriousness of the coming stage and entails pooling all the Palestinian efforts to defend the West Bank.”
In a statement on Thursday, Mardawi added that the Israeli aggression in the northern West Bank would not succeed in breaking the will of the Palestinian people or pushing them to surrender.
Mardawi also said that the Israeli occupation government’s annexation and appropriation of more West Bank lands and its expansion of settlements cannot happen without US cover and support and the international turning of a blind eye to Israel’s violations against the Palestinian people and their rights.
Mardawi stressed that the Palestinian people have the right to use all means available in their hands to defend themselves, their land and property, protect their existence and resist displacement plans.
The Hamas official accused the Palestinian Authority leadership of facilitating the Israeli occupation’s mission through chasing and arresting resistance fighters in the West Bank, especially in Jenin, Tulkarem and Tubas.
He called on the Arab countries, especially those sharing borders with Palestine, to stand firm in the face of any attempt to displace the Palestinians from their land and reject even the suggestion of any idea in this regard.
“The Palestinian people will neither leave their land nor allow any attempt to displace them from it no matter how great the sacrifices. The scene of displaced citizens returning to the northern Gaza Strip is the best proof of that,” he underscored.
