GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has held Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the Palestinian resistance’s decision to postpone the handover of Israeli captives who were scheduled for release on Saturday, February 15.
Hamas spokesman Abdul-Latif al-Qanu told Al Araby satellite channel on Monday evening that the Israeli occupation government had violated the ceasefire agreement in the past weeks and prevented the entry of aid, fuel and tents.
“The occupation is waging a new war on the population of Gaza through barring the entry of aid and continuing its siege on the Strip,” spokesman Qanu said.
The spokesman called on the mediators to pressure the Israeli government to abide by the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
He pointed out that his Movement had appealed to the mediators a week ago to oblige the Israelis to honor what was agreed upon in the first phase of the agreement.
He stressed that Hamas remains committed to the ceasefire agreement as long as the Israelis abide by its terms.
In a post on his Telegram account on Monday, spokesman for the Brigades Abu Obeida said that “the handover of the Zionist prisoners who were slated for release next Saturday, February 15, 2025, will be postponed until further notice, and until the occupation abides [by the terms of the ceasefire agreement] and compensates for the past weeks retroactively.”
