DOHA, (The Palestinian Information Center) A delegation from the leadership of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), headed by Khalil al-Hayya, the Movement’s leader in Gaza, met on Thursday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his accompanying delegation in the Qatari capital, Doha.
The meeting reviewed political developments and the ongoing Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, where the occupation continues to commit acts of genocide against the Palestinian people, along with crimes of starvation and killing. The discussion also addressed the grave threats facing the Palestinian cause, including attempts to eliminate it, annex the West Bank, and divide the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.
Both sides discussed diplomatic efforts aimed at halting the aggression, with appreciated mediation efforts from Egypt and Qatar, as well as the contacts launched by the Hamas leadership in this regard.
The meeting also touched on the Israeli attack on the Islamic Republic of Iran last June and its impact on the conflict with the occupation and on the region as a whole.
For his part, the Iranian Foreign Minister reaffirmed his country’s unwavering stance on the Palestinian cause and the role of the Islamic Republic in this regard.
He emphasized that Israel is the enemy of the nation and of humanity, valuing in this regard the steadfastness and sacrifices of the Palestinian people in Gaza.
