GAZA, (Palestine Foundation Information Center)، The Hamas Movement said that the killing of Yasser Abu Shabab in Gaza is “the inevitable fate of all those who betray their people and homeland and are content to be tools in the hands of the [Israeli] occupation”.
“The criminal acts perpetrated by the so-called Yasser Abu Shabab and his gang represent a blatant departure from the national and social consensus,” Hamas said in a statement issued late on Thursday.
Hamas has expressed appreciation for the clear stance taken by families, tribes, and clans who have publicly disowned Yasser Abu Shabab and anyone involved in assaults against fellow Palestinians or in collaboration with the Israeli occupation. The Movement emphasized that these individuals are isolated and “represent no one but themselves.”
Hamas also stated that the Israeli occupation’s reliance on socially and morally discredited outlaws to implement its schemes in Gaza reflects its failure in the face of Palestinian resilience and steadfast resistance.
“We affirm that the occupation, which failed to protect its own agents, will be unable to protect any of its lackeys, and the fate of all who tamper with the security of their people and serve their enemy is to fall into the dustbin of history, losing all respect and standing in their society.”
The Movement stressed that the unity of the Palestinian people, its families, tribes, and national institutions, remains the safeguard against any attempt to destroy the social fabric. It firmly rejected any protection or support for rogue groups or suspicious agendas, regardless of who backs them.
For its part, the Tarabin tribe in the Gaza Strip reiterated its unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their national cause, emphasizing that its members have always upheld their national identity and rejected any actions that harm the fabric of the Palestinian society.
The tribe stressed that it will never provide cover for instigators of sedition or collaborators with the occupation, regardless of any attempts to misuse the tribe’s name for purposes that contradict its history and values.
The tribe said it has closely followed the recent events in Rafah, considering the killing of Yasser Abu Shabab by the Palestinian resistance as the “end of a dark chapter” that does not represent the history or principled stance of the Tarabin. It described the death of someone who “betrayed the cause and collaborated with the occupation” as closing a disgraceful page that the tribe’s members had sought to end through a firm and clear stance.
The tribe declared its full alignment with all factions of the Palestinian resistance and affirmed its solidarity with the people of Gaza in confronting the Israeli aggression. It firmly rejected any attempts to exploit the tribe’s name or its members in forming groups or militias that serve the interests of the occupation.
The Tarabin called on all families and tribes to preserve national unity and block any efforts to sow division within Palestinian society, underscoring that there is “no place for treachery or collaborators in Gaza,” and that the Palestinian people stand united behind their resistance until their full rights are achieved.
In the same context, a source close to Al-Qassam Brigades revealed that Yasser Abu Shabab was eliminated through a carefully planned ambush in Rafah. A young man from his own tribe infiltrated his armed group, pretending to join them, and successfully carried out the operation, killing Abu Shabab and several of his companions.
According to the source, the ambush was executed in a location near Israeli tanks, catching the group off guard from within and ensuring the success of the mission.
Earlier Thursday, Israeli Army Radio reported that Yasser Abu Shabab was killed in the Rafah area by an unidentified armed group.
Israel’s Channel 12 also quoted a security official as saying that Abu Shabab was taken to Soroka Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
