OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Hamas Movement has condemned the Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben Gvir’s decision to reduce family visits to Palestinian prisoners, labeling it as a new crime.
In a press statement on Friday, Hamas stressed that Ben Gvir’s decision constitutes part of the sadist policies practiced by the Israeli fascist government.
“The issue of Palestinian prisoners is a top priority for the Movement,” Hamas underlined, affirming that Palestinian prisoners will not be deterred by the Israeli decisions.
For its part, the National Captive Movement said in a brief statement that it will confront Ben Gvir’s decision by all means possible, adding that it will adopt a unified stance towards the recent Israeli decision.
Moreover, Palestinian institutions and resistance factions said in separate statements that a state of tension prevailed in the Israeli prisons following Ben Gvir’s decision, warning that such a decision would flare up the situation in the prisons.
Earlier today, Ben Gvir, reduced the number of family visits to Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, as part of his punishment measures.
According to the Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper, family visits to Palestinian prisoners from the West Bank will be limited to once every two months instead of once a month starting next Sunday.
