CAIRO, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement and other Palestinian factions have stressed the need for the Israeli occupation government to fully implement the first phase of the ceasefire agreement over the Gaza Strip, with all its provisions.
This came in a statement released by Hamas on Friday following its delegation’s visit to Cairo, where it held a series of meetings with Egyptian officials, mediators, and representatives of Palestinian factions.
The Hamas delegation, led by Khalil al-Hayya, concluded its visit to the Egyptian capital Cairo on Friday, April 3, 2026.
The statement called for the immediate activation of the transitional “National Committee for the Administration of Gaza” to enable it to manage the Strip’s daily affairs, restore sustained calm, and prepare the ground for early recovery and reconstruction operations.
Hamas noted that its delegation, along with officials of Palestinian factions, held a meeting with Nickolay Mladenov, director-general of the US-sponsored “Board of Peace, in the presence of mediators from Egypt, Qatar, and Türkiye.
The meeting was part of efforts to fully implement the ceasefire agreement over Gaza, in line with US president Donald Trump’s plan, and to address the aftermath of the Israeli war on Gaza.
During the meeting, the delegation reaffirmed the serious and positive positions of Hamas and other factions on completing and implementing all ceasefire phases, as well as their commitment to the signed agreement.
According to the statement, the Hamas delegation has been invited to return to Cairo in the coming days for another round of talks.
