GAZA (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced by the “fascist ruling coalition” in the Israeli occupation state for holding a conference on Sunday calling for annexing the West Bank and the Gaza Strip and supporting settlement expansion.
In a statement on Monday, Hamas said that the conference “unveiled the hidden Israeli intents to commit the crime of displacement and ethnic cleansing against the Palestinian people.”
“Organizing such a conference has reflected this rogue entity’s disregard for international laws and resolutions, including the recent ruling that was adopted by the International Court of Justice and called for taking all the measures to stop its genocide in Gaza,” Hamas added.
The Movement called on the international community and the UN to take a firm stance against this Israeli conference and to condemn its holding.
Several ministers within Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu’s right-wing government were among 15 Knesset members and thousands of people who flocked to a conference in Occupied Jerusalem on Sunday night calling for Jewish resettlement of Gaza, with far-right security minister Itamar Ben Gvir and finance minister Bezalel Smotrich delivering opening speeches.
The conference, dubbed “Settlement Brings Security,” was led in part by the right-wing Nachala organization, a group advocating for the expansion of Jewish settlements, which are considered illegal by international and humanitarian bodies.
The event called for the Israeli occupation state to rebuild settlements in both Gaza and northern parts of the West Bank.
