OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (Palestine Foundation Information Center) The Hamas Movement has condemned the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque by the extremist Itamar Ben-Gvir on the first day of the Jewish “Festival of Lights”, calling it a dangerous violation. It urged the Arab and Islamic nations to assume their responsibility to protect the Al-Aqsa and other holy sites.
Hamas confirmed in a statement on Thursday that Ben-Gvir’s storming of the courtyards of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque this morning represents a dangerous violation and reflects the tendency of the extremist right-wing occupation government towards escalating its attacks and criminal measures against the Al-Aqsa aiming at Judaizing the holy site and tightening its control over it.
It called on the Palestinians in the West Bank, Jerusalem and the 1948 occupied Palestine to mobilize at Al-Aqsa in defense of its sanctity and in confrontation of the Israeli Judaization plans.
It also called on “our valiant resistance and our revolutionary youth in the occupied West Bank to escalate their clashes with the criminal enemy and its settler gangs.”
Hamas called on “our Arab and Islamic nation, governments, peoples and organizations, headed by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to shoulder their responsibilities, and take a firm stance towards the Israeli occupation’s incursions and blatant attacks on the first of the two Qiblas and the third of the two Holy Mosques, and to work by all means to stop this brutal aggression against our Palestinian people, and to protect our Islamic and Christian sanctities, foremost of which is the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
