The Hamas Movement said that the actions of far-right Israeli Minister Itamar Ben Gvir during his visit to the Negev, where he personally handed demolition and eviction orders to Bedouin families, represent a clear embodiment of what it described as “organized terrorism and the arrogance practiced by the Israeli government, which sponsors extremism and repression in all its forms.”
In a press statement released on Thursday, the Movement stressed that the Israeli intimidation and coercion of Bedouin communities, threatening them with the loss of shelter, is part of an ongoing pattern of systematic abuse and racial discrimination. It reflects a logic of provocation and violence carried out with complete disregard for legal or moral restraint.
Hamas warned that the Israeli government’s continued oppressive and fascist approach would lead to serious consequences on the ground. The Movement called on the international community and human rights organizations to act urgently to stop the policies of home demolition and forced displacement carried out by the Israeli authorities against Palestinians in the Negev.
Hamas also urged the Palestinian public, along with local and national institutions, to immediately stand in solidarity with Bedouin residents of the Negev and all communities affected by the Israeli authorities’ actions. It called for intensified grassroots and legal efforts to confront attempts at forced displacement, emphasizing that the steadfastness and resilience of the Palestinian people form the strongest barrier against Israel’s “malicious schemes.”
