Hamas condemns Guterres labeling of Palestinian resistance as violence

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (The Palestine Information Centre)The Hamas Movement has condemned the United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres’ labeling of Palestinian resistance to the Israeli occupation as violence.

In a press statement on Thursday evening, the Movement stressed that the Palestinian people have the legitimate right of self-defense, adding that they will continue confronting the Israeli occupation until there is no place for the occupiers.

“The terms ‘violence’ and ‘terrorism’ apply exclusively to the Israeli occupation and its Jewish settlers,” the Movement affirmed, holding the occupation responsible for violating the Palestinian people’s rights.

The Movement called on the UN and Guterres to assume their responsibility, support the Palestinian people’s just cause, and prosecute the Israeli leaders for their repeated crimes against the Palestinian people, lands, and holy sites.
