OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), The Hamas Movement has condemned the forced displacement of Palestinian families in different areas of Occupied Jerusalem as a “renewed crime,” calling for international action to hold the Israeli occupation regime accountable for its violations in the holy city.
In a statement on Thursday, senior Hamas official Haroun Nasiruddin said that the recent mass displacement of several Jerusalemite families from their homes in different areas, including the Batn al-Hawa neighborhood of Silwan, was carried out as “part of a systematic policy to uproot residents from their homes and seize them for settlement and Judaization projects.”
“The escalation of this policy seeks to empty Jerusalem of its indigenous inhabitants and impose a new Judaization fait accompli by force,” Nasiruddin warned.
The Hamas official expressed his belief that the Israeli occupation’s practices would never succeed in erasing the Palestinian people’s historical right to their land and holy sites.
He urged Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the international community, to stand by the Palestinian people and hold the Israeli regime accountable for its crimes.
