Hamas Condemns Mass Displacement in West Bank as Forced Expulsion

WEST BANK, (Palestine Foundation Information Center), Hamas official Abdul Rahman Shadid affirmed that the displacement of more than 36,000 Palestinians from the West Bank in a single year is conclusive evidence of the scale of crimes committed by the Israeli occupation authority against the Palestinian people, as part of a policy aimed at forced expulsion, emptying the land of its inhabitants, and imposing a new demographic reality by force.

Shadid added in a press statement on Wednesday that the continuation of wide-scale arrest campaigns in the West Bank, including the recent campaign in Qalqilya that targeted 17 women, most of them wives of prisoners, former detainees, and relatives of martyrs, represents a dangerous escalation, a direct targeting of women, and an attempt to break the will of the people.

He explained that targeting women in this manner reflects the moral decline of the occupation and confirms its policies of pressuring and intimidating all segments of society.

Shadid warned of the dangers of this path, which combines displacement, arrests, and intimidation, stressing that these crimes will not succeed in breaking the resilience of the people, but will instead strengthen their attachment to their land and rights.

He called for greater mobilization to confront policies of displacement and arrest, and for activating pressure tools to expose these practices, emphasizing the need to support the displaced, the families of prisoners and detainees, and to reinforce their steadfastness in the face of this assault.
