WEST BANK (Palestine Foundation Information Center) Leader in the Hamas Movement Abdul Hakim Hanini condemned the settler attack on Marda mosque in Salfit as “a dangerous escalation against Islamic sanctities, and came as part of the escalating crimes and genocidal war against our people and our land.”
Hanini stressed that the repeated burning of mosques in the West Bank, which coincides with the increasing settler raids into Aqsa Mosque, is additional evidence of the Israeli fascist practices.
He also stressed the urgent need for a strong reaction to deter the racist settler attacks against mosques and Islamic sanctities.
“Our resistance will not remain silent before these violations against the sanctity of our mosques and sanctities.”
“The insistence of the occupation and settlers to continue their crimes in the West Bank and Jerusalem will not go unpunished, as our people will remain attached to their land and defend their dignity no matter the cost.”
Earlier on Friday, a group of Jewish settlers set fire to a mosque in the Marda village, north of Salfit, northwest of the West Bank.
According to eyewitnesses, the settlers stormed the eastern part of the village, set fire to the Bir al-Walidain mosque, and sprayed racist slogans on its walls.
