Hamas delegation meets Russian deputy FM

DOHA  (Palestine Foundation Information Center) A senior Hamas delegation met in Doha on Sunday with Mikhail Bogdanov, the Russian deputy foreign minister and the special representative of the Russian president to the Middle East and Africa.

The officials discussed the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the continuous Israeli violations of the agreement including blocking the entry of fuel supplies, heavy machinery, tents and caravans into the besieged enclave.

The two sides also tackled the deteriorating conditions in the West Bank and Jerusalem due to the Israeli occupation’s crimes and systematic destruction of the infrastructure the West Bank towns and refugee camps.

The Hamas officials affirmed their Movement’s commitment to all articles of the Gaza ceasefire agreement and the importance of obliging Israel to abide by its conditions.

They pointed to the importance of the Russian role in supporting the Palestinian people’s rights and the urgent need to meet the Gaza Strip’s humanitarian needs.

For his part, Bogdanov affirmed Moscow’s stable position in support of the Palestinian people’s rights and all articles of the ceasefire agreement. Russia supports the entry of all humanitarian aid to Gaza without any conditions attached, he added.

The Russian diplomat stressed his country’s rejection of imposing any solutions on the Palestinian people and the continuation of his country’s backing to the Palestinian cause at all international platforms.

The Hamas delegation was led by the chairman of its leadership council, Mohammed Darwish, and included Khaled Mishaal, the head of the Movement’s foreign bureau, Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, the head of its international relations bureau, and Sami Khater, the member of its political bureau.
